Event Details:
The Town is partnering with the Downtown Georgetown BIA Farmer’s Market
to raise awareness of sustainable actions that support a resilient and healthy
environmental community.
Join us at the Halton Hills Public Library and Cultural Centre from 8:00 a.m.
to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024, for the family Go Green Halton Hills event!
Outdoor activities:
- Plug’n Drive will have three electric vehicles for residents with a valid driver’s license to test drive
- EV Society and members will be on-hand with their own electric vehicles to answer questions
- Visit booths by environmental groups, and green businesses
- Town booths on cycling, trails, Youth Taxi Scrip Program, and transportation
Indoor activities include:
- Presentations:
- Binoculars and Birdwatching 101
- Solar Energy Installations
- Home Heat/Cooling Pumps
- EV Ownership 101
- Take a Green Tour available every hour of the event on the award-winning Halton Hills
Library and Cultural Centre! This tour will amaze you with its environmental features, and
you will never look at this building the same again!
- Three one-hour environmentally-themed children’s programs and story time!
- Walk through the Halton Hills Public Library to find the “Go Green” book theme displays.
- Visit the unique Space to Spoon exhibit “talks” in the lobby!
- Borrow a *NEW Backyard Explorer kit from the Halton Hills Public Library
